After performing at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the Grand Théâtre de Quebec and at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Benjamin Deschamps is touring the Maritimes to present his new album Augmented Reality!
Saxophonist and composer Benjamin Deschamps has established himself as a must on the Canadian jazz scene with his first 3 albums: What Do We Know (2014), Demi-Nuit (2017) and No Codes (2018). He presented successfully shared his music across Canada, touring several jazz festivals in the country and in France.
His new project, Augmented Reality (2021), takes a more electric turn, powerful and lyrical. Deschamps is inspired by the works of musicians fond of this spirited jazz such as Donny McCaslin and Ben Wendel. This is an introspective album, more robust, more mature, but just as ingenious as the previous ones.
