Robert Thomas has been a published songwriter for 45 years. His writing credits include, Kenny Rogers Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt and the Dixie Chicks, among others. Thomas is currently on tour showcasing the original, writer’s versions of these songs with his high energy band of co-writers, the sessionmen. Collectively, the sessionmen (Ray Legere, Jon Arsenault, and Maxime Forbes) are a “brilliant” band in their own right having supported the likes of Alison Krauss, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Rita MacNeil, the Rankins, Natalie MacMaster and the Chieftans.
Robert Thomas and the sessionmen perform high energy all original “folk-n-roll” songs masterfully linked together by Thomas’s engaging, often humorous, stories and anecdotes about the process and art of songwriting. In 2022, Robert Thomas and the sessionmen were nominated as Entertainers of The Year by the ECMA and performed 25 shows to 24 standing ovations in Atlantic Canada, The United States, Germany and Austria. Their string of standing ovations continues in 2023.
