Policies & Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE CAPITOL’S RETURN POLICY?
Any performance cancelled either by the Capitol Theatre, its clients, or artists, will be eligible for a full refund. Otherwise, we will be happy to exchange your tickets for an account balance (less any service charges) prior to the performance in the event that you are unable to attend. (This must take place at least 24 hours before the performance.) Tickets must be returned to the box office in order to receive your account balance. We cannot exchange tickets for a performance which has already taken place.

WHAT FEES ARE ADDED TO THE PRICE OF A TICKET?
The Capitol has some of the lowest fees in the industry and advertised ticket prices include all fees. There are three ways for you to shop: you can purchase your tickets in person, order them over the telephone or order on-line. All tickets include a $6.00 Capital Improvement Fund fee (CIF). Should you request the tickets be mailed to you, we will add a $2.00 mailing and handling fee.
WHAT IS THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (CIF)?
Since 1992, over $5 million has been invested in maintaining the Capitol as a premier performing arts center in Southeastern NB. This money comes from the Capital Improvement Fund, along with matching grants from the City of Moncton and Canadian Heritage. The money is invested in technical equipment and building improvements to ensure that the facility is the best it can be for the artists who perform here and for you the patron.
DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A TICKET FOR MY BABY/CHILD?
The Capitol Theatre has adopted a ‘Babes in arms’ policy. Complete ticketing policy details HERE.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR A SHOW?
The time indicated on your ticket is the start time of the show. If you already have your tickets, 30 minutes prior to show time should allow enough time for you to find your seat and enjoy a beverage before show time. If you need to pick up your tickets from the box office, we recommend you arrive an hour before in order to avoid long lines that could cause you to miss the start of the show.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I ARRIVE LATE?
While we strongly encourage patrons to arrive a little early for every show, we understand that sometimes the best-laid plans can go astray. Should you arrive late, our awesome volunteers will assist you in getting into the show during a break in the performance, ensuring we don’t disrupt the audience or the artists.
HOW CAN I FIND MY SEAT?
The Capitol is lucky to have an army of volunteer ushers located at each entrance who will gladly help you to your seat. You may also consult our seat plan HERE.

The Main Floor (just in front of the stage) is barrier-free and the Capitol has a number of removable seats to accommodate wheelchairs for every single performance. Simply call the box office ahead of time to reserve and purchase these seats.

The Capitol is pleased to offer bar and beverage service for most of our performances both before the show and during intermission. Beverages may be enjoyed in the hall during performances. A great selection of Molson products, wine, water and pop are available.
IS EVERY SEAT THE SAME SIZE?
Just like our varied programming that acknowledges that not everyone’s tastes are the same, we also know that not everyone is built the same.
