Community Access to the Live Arts
The Capitol Theatre connects our community with incredible live arts experiences, across all disciplines and in both official languages.
Everyone belongs at the Capitol Theatre and we are proud to offer an inclusive space where all persons can connect through incredible performing arts experiences in our state-of-the-art facilities.
We partner with cultural organizations, educational institutions, nonprofits and businesses to create a positive impact within our community by offering the following programs.
We’re delighted to share that the Easter Seals Canada “Access 2 Card” program is now accepted at the Capitol Theatre. This initiative supports people living with a permanent disability who require a support person: when the cardholder purchases a regular-priced ticket, their support person receives free admission at participating venues.
To use this benefit at our theatre, simply book tickets through our Box Office — the cardholder pays their ticket, presents their valid Access 2 Card at purchase, and we book a seat for their support person, at no charge. If you have any questions or need assistance, our Box Office team will be happy to help.
The Capitol Theatre is now officially Rainbow Registered! This accreditation, administered by Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce is a testament to our commitment to creating a safer, more welcoming, and inclusive space for the 2SLGBTQI+ community. This means that whether you are a customer or a partner, you can expect a welcoming environment that respects and celebrates all individuals. We encourage you to visit RainbowRegistered.ca to explore other accredited businesses in our area and learn more about the program.
Designed in partnership with TD Bank, TD CONNECTS is a series of exciting performances that amplifies diverse voices in the arts and builds stronger connections in our communities.
Each TD Connects performance features a local nonprofit group who is invited to introduce themselves to our audience onstage before the show. TD Connects performances spotlight underrepresented artists in the arts and shine a light on the great work being done by our fellow nonprofit organizations.
