Want to create fascinating characters using your body and voice? In Rising Stars, you’ll develop your skills through dynamic and creative activities. Through group games, mime, storytelling, and movement, you’ll learn to express yourself on stage while having fun and working with others.

Express your ideas, emotions, and creativity on stage! On Stage offers an opportunity to build acting skills through vocal and physical expression, improvisation, and character creation. You'll learn to develop a role more deeply, incorporating costumes and props.

Dive into a more complete and creative approach to theatre! In The Creators, you’ll explore techniques in voice, mime, monologue, and stage direction. You’ll grow as a performer, but also as an artist, thinking like a playwright or director. Use theatre to explore, question, and express the realities of yesterday and today. This course also includes topics like stage combat and emotional recall.

Audition required: To participate in OVATION, a short audition video must be submitted by January 9. The video should include a song of approximately one minute, in any style of your choice. It does not need to be professionally recorded, but your voice should be clearly audible. If the audition does not yet meet the expectations for OVATION, the participant will be automatically invited to join the ENSEMBLE class. Please send your video to: academie@capitol.nb.ca
The Academy’s musical theatre classes combine skill development with creativity. Ovation is for motivated and curious young artists who are ready to take on new challenges. In this class, participants will continue to develop their skills in music, voice, dance, and acting. While exploring songs from well-known musicals, they’ll create original stories and characters, and deepen their individual expression. The class includes both group and solo work to support each participant’s artistic growth. As with other courses, Ovation ends with an in-class presentation (open class).
