Duo Homard
Duo Homard — flutist Phoebe Robertson and pianist Pierre-André Doucet — invite audiences on an unforgettable musical adventure with There and Back Again, a vibrant program overflowing with emotion, imagination, and dazzling virtuosity.
Inspired by the idea of returning home, the concert draws deeply from the duo’s New Brunswick roots while reaching outward to musical landscapes full of colour, contrast, and discovery. Named after the lobster, proud symbol of Atlantic Canada, Duo Homard blends warmth, storytelling, and fearless artistry into a performance that feels both deeply personal and exhilaratingly expansive.
At the heart of the program is Franz Schubert’s soaring Sonata in A Minor, reimagined for flute, alongside a newly commissioned work and electrifying music by Tania León and Samuel Zyman. Striking solo moments from Jared A. Miller’s evocative Retour aux sources: Grand-Pré to Astor Piazzolla’s fiery Tango-Étude No. 3 bring bursts of passion, energy, and cinematic flair.
Known for their magnetic stage presence and effortless musical chemistry, Duo Homard creates concerts that are immersive, intimate, and alive with excitement, equally captivating for longtime classical music lovers and curious first-time listeners.
