Jonathan Roy

Singer-songwriter Jonathan Roy continues to make his mark on the music scene with his new Symphony of Doubts tour. For the past two years, his career has been soaring to new heights, with each concert filling venues across North America and Europe. His latest tour, Life Distortions, was an international triumph, flying over nearly 30 countries and lighting up some 125 shows. The tour also earned him the prestigious Félix award for English-language Show of the Year. With a new single already unveiled, Nice To Meet You, Jonathan announces an even more impressive show, where each song will sound like an invitation to plunge into his unique universe. Prepare to be swept away for almost 90 minutes in a whirlwind of emotions and melodies at Jonathan Roy's Symphony of Doubts.
Jonathan Roy draws inspiration from everything around him. The universal, the unique - and sometimes the downright random - manifests itself in his process, and from his countless travels and connections - he has created something both familiar and engaging. His new tracks are an astonishing collection of songs that cross borders and genres. “I had to get out of my comfort zone, buy (and live) in a van to find myself,” he muses. “My songs reflect that - and reflect that recharge I needed. Not only in my artistic life, but also in my personal life.”
It was then that he decided to try his luck and leave his native province of Quebec for the sunny shores of Malibu, California. The beach provided him with solace, a new outlet and innovative new partners with whom he began writing songs. His new single Keeping Me Alive is the first song he wrote with his new collaborators, Brian Howes (Mother Mother / Boys Like Girls) and Jay Van Poederooyen (Faber Drive / Airbourne), and it sums up his restorative experience perfectly. The honesty, the propulsive rhythm - everything confirms that Roy is now in a state where he's constantly pushing himself forward and trying to improve his craft. He shows his strength as a solo artist and how much he has grown in his musical career.
