Paratopias by Pratibha Arts
Atlantic Ballet Canada, as part of IMPACTfest, is pleased to present Paratopias by Pratibha Arts, directed by Bageshree Vaze.
Paratopias is a dazzling multidisciplinary production featuring exquisite dance, invigorating live music, and a unique projection design.
Paratopia refers to an alternate reality. This work celebrates the inspiring possibilities of an inclusive and diverse world through the rhythmic language of Kathak and Tabla, Bharatha Natyam aesthetics, a video narrative, and original music by Bageshree Vaze and Vineet Vyas.
The work pays homage to the St. John’s Hindu Temple in Newfoundland and Labrador, where Bageshree Vaze first discovered Indian dance. The Temple remains a space of inspiration, empowering the Indo-Canadian community to navigate their Canadian identity.
